Jersey Musicians

Jersey Musicians are a group of people based in Jersey, Channel Islands. They meet every Monday night and play a range of musical styles from folk to American Blue Grass. The range of talent and skill at Jersey Musicians is astounding and we went along to talk the some of the members. Ben Hollow is the founder member of Jersey Musicians and like the rest of the group he is a seasoned musician. His chosen instrument is the guitar. Having played for 35 years in and around Jersey, Ben is a master in his class. Many people often as how to join Jersey Musicians and this is what Ben had to say. “ I started Jersey Musicians 12 years ago to focus on the needs of musicians in Jersey. It was also meant as a place to go for people to play and listen. In the beginning it was pretty quiet with only a handful of people attending. Now your are sometimes lucky to get a seat! We have used a few locations over the years but our current home at the Blue Cat is just great. We can’t thank Simon enough for letting us play in his bar and welcoming everyone” We went along for three weeks in a row and have to say the standard was excellent. On the first night we were rewarded with 8 different acts including two guitar players that were superb. After that show we talked to them and found out that they both played in the European circuit and had supported the likes of Paul Weller, Nick Kershaw and Elvis Costello. An absolute treat to come across such talent in Jersey. If you are interested in becoming one of the Jersey Musicians then contact Ben on 123 456 6777 to find out more.
